I HAVE A DREAM

In 10 years’ time, I hope I have found the power of “I am..” and that I have learned to accept it. Everything I have experienced in my life has made me who I am now. I can choose for myself which “I am...” I want to be. If you always say, “I am negative”, then your life will certainly be negative. If you say, “I am blessed”, then you will be blessed. It is important that you invite the good side of life over yourself. In 10 years’ time, I hope I will be more vigilant about who “I am,”.

In 10 years’ time, I have found the place called “home”. I have found peace about my identity. “I am Dutch”, or “I am Chinese”, no way out which I want to be or which I am. But I accept that I may be both. Finding freedom in my life. “I am who I may be”, and I will get everything out of it. Beauty is not how thin, how big or how perfect I look. But beauty is how God has made me.

If I think about it, there is not even an “I am..”. Everything you are, it is always changing. “I am moving”, my “I am” being not the same today, not as yesterday, or about 5 years later, let alone in 10 years time. “I am changing”, my mind of thought is changed with the years. “I am so temporary”, personal growth and the forming of my identity is a wonderful and lifelong process. To get to know the world and your place in it, gives me satisfaction and better knowledge.

My soul is weary with sorrow strengthen me according to your word

Yes, in about 10 years I will know the “I am..”, but it will happen with God. He reveals this. With my own power this doesn’t work. I want to do this with God. I put my future picture in God’s hands. I don’t know what’s going to happen. Only God knows. You have the will from yourself and the will from God. I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I know that I can do it with God by my side. I have the ambition and I know who controls this, and that is God.

If I do not succeed, and if I am in a deep valley, then I think again of the “I am loved by God”. With those thoughts, I will take the steps forward in my life. My biggest dream is to find the true “I am”. A life full of blessings and teachable moments that I receive.
